Last day, last Workshop for Teagan, age 18, before she heads off to college!

A special THANKS to all of those who attended our Summer “a la cARTe” Workshops!  It was great to have longtime participants as well as newcomers include Right-Brained Studio as part of their summer fun.

Continue the fun with us this Fall!  Our schedule is online and available for registration.  Classes and Workshops begin the week of September 17th.

Last day, Last workshop of the Summer:  Teagan, Claire and Monica, 3 longtime friends, students of Right-Brained Studio and recent high-school grads, created art until after midnight this past Thursday! You can view their art installation in the front window of the studio.

Summer “a la cARTe” Workshops for the week of August 13th!  

All workshops are $15 per participant and meet for 1 hr. (*unless otherwise noted).  Please check the 2012 ART CLASS SCHEDULE for more information.

Monday August 13th:  Horse Drawing (Chalk Pastels), 10:00 – 11:00am – 1 hr., Mutli-Age Group: 2nd grade and up, teens and adults welcome.  Art Open (Pick your own project), 11:15am – 12:15pm – 1 hr., All Ages: Children 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult, teens and adults welcome

Tuesday August 14th:  Animal Drawing (Pencil, Sharpies and Oil Pastels), 10:00 – 11:00am – 1 hr., Mutli-Age Group: 2nd grade and up, teens and adults welcome.   Art Open (Pick your own project), 11:15am – 12:15pm – 1 hr., All Ages: Children 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult, teens and adults welcome.

Wednesday August 15th:  Art Lab (Color Pencil, Markers), 6:00 – 7:00pm – 1 hr., Mutli-Age Group: 2nd grade and up, teens and adults welcome.  Art Open (Pick your own project), 7:15 – 8:15pm – 1 hr., All Ages: Children 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult, teens and adults welcome. 

Thursday August 16th:  What IS Art? (Art Inspired by Marketa Sivek/Choose a House or a Dress/Acrylic Paint/Canvass), 6:00- 7:00pm – 1 hr.  Art Open (Pick your own project), 7:15 – 8:15pm – 1 hr., All Ages: Children 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult, teens and adults welcome

Yarn Bombing! (Crochet for Public Display)

Crocheters and knitters these days are not satisfied with creating just apparel with their craft–they’re taking yarn to the streets! Yarn bombing in an increasingly popular activity that you can find in cities around the world where crocheters and knitters use their skills to create public art. Come learn to create a yarn bomb of your own. We’ll spend the first part of the workshop learning the basics of crochet and how to build a granny square and the second part finalizing our squares and putting them on display.  Sign up for 1 workshop or all three…Beginners and advanced crocheters welcome!

Tuition for this 2 hr. workshop is $30 and will be offered during the following dates/times:

Saturday September 29th: 10:00am-noon

Wednesday August 8th:  *Sew Fun! (Plush Toy Design), 10:00am – 12:00pm – 2 hr./$30, Mutli-Age Group: 3rd grade and up, teens and adults welcome.  Re-Art! Along with our favorite classes, we’ve added Saturday “a la cARTe” Workshops to our list of offerings, providing scheduling flexibility for busy artists.

Last week, during one of our Summer “a la cARTe” Workshops, artists created some really cool recycled and functional art!  This rusty looking “Robot Fox” was made out of an old cigar box.
